This policy explains what personal information JobPilot ("we", "JobPilot") collects when you use JobPilot.in, why we collect it, who sees it and what control you have. We have written it in plain language on purpose.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and the role you chose (job seeker or employer).
- Profile and career details you add: work history, education, skills, job preferences, expected salary range, location and links. Your phone number is never shown publicly.
- Resumes: files you upload, text you paste, and resumes you build in JobPilot, together with their saved versions.
- Activity: jobs you save or apply to, applications you track, saved searches, interview practice answers, cover letters and roadmaps you create.
- Payments: which plan you bought, the amount, receipt number and payment status. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by our payment partner Razorpay and are never seen or stored by us.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and basic usage logs, kept for security, abuse prevention and fixing errors.
- Messages: anything you send us through the contact or job-report forms.
How we use it
- To run your account, show job matches and keep your applications organised.
- To provide the tools you choose to use, such as the resume checker, cover letters, interview practice and roadmaps.
- To send service emails: verification, password resets, application updates, receipts and the job alerts you ask for.
- To keep the platform safe: detecting scams, spam, fraud and misuse.
- To process payments, issue receipts and meet tax and accounting duties.
- To improve the product, using aggregated and de-identified usage figures.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your resume or answers to train AI models of our own.
AI features and your consent
Some tools send the text you submit (for example your resume text or a job description) to an AI provider so that it can generate suggestions. We only do this after you have given your consent for AI features, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings. We do not send your phone number, password or payment details to AI providers. AI output is a suggestion, can be wrong, and must be checked by you before you use it.
Who we share it with
- Employers, only when you apply. When you apply for a job on JobPilot, the employer sees the application you submit, including the resume you attach. Employers cannot browse your private profile or resumes otherwise.
- Service providers who help us run the service under confidentiality terms: hosting, email delivery, payment processing (Razorpay) and, if you enable AI features, the AI provider.
- Authorities, where the law requires it or to protect users and the service from fraud or harm.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise your profile, resumes and activity, except records we must keep by law (for example payment and tax records) and limited security logs. Server logs are kept for a short period and then removed.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and related law you can ask to access, correct, download or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Most of this is available directly in your account under Settings, including data export and account deletion. For anything else, write to us at the grievance address below.
Security
Passwords are hashed, connections use HTTPS, access to admin tools is restricted and logged, and sensitive keys are kept out of the public web folder. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly if you suspect misuse of your account.

We use a small number of cookies that the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in. See our Cookie Policy.
Children
JobPilot is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make an important change we will update the date on this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email or in the app.
