Sales and marketing roles
Questions for sales, business development and digital marketing.
1. How do you handle rejection from a customer?
How to answer: Show resilience and learning: ask what the objection really was, adjust your approach and follow up politely.
2. Sell me this pen.
How to answer: Ask a question or two about their needs before pitching. Connect one feature to one need. Showing curiosity beats a rehearsed speech.
3. How do you measure a marketing campaign?
How to answer: Start from the goal, then pick the matching measures, such as leads, cost per lead or sales, and compare with a baseline. Avoid vanity numbers.
4. How do you build a relationship with a new client?
How to answer: Learn their goals, communicate regularly, keep promises and fix problems quickly. Give a short example.
5. Tell me about a target you met or missed.
How to answer: Be exact about the target and your actions. For a miss, explain what you learned and changed.
6. What would you do in your first 30 days?
How to answer: Learn the product, customers and tools, listen to colleagues, then pick one small improvement to deliver. Show a plan without overpromising.
